Sure, winter brings with it a lot of fun things. Think skiing, playoff football, spiked hot chocolate and more. But, these colder months (and it's really, really cold on the east coast this year) also present some serious grooming challenges. These obstacles usually relate to the cold, dry air and the subsequent drying and flaking of different parts of a gent's body. Well, instead of just bitching about the cold and what it's doing to your skin, why not get out in front of the brrrrr and use some targeted products to keep looking and feeling "hot" despite the cold.
YOU MUST MOISTURIZE THAT FACE
As the humidity drops, the air becomes really dry -- leaving faces itchy, flaky and not super attractive. Regularly applying a moisturizer like Grooming Lounge Mug Moisturizer should keep things soft and comfortable.
YOUR SKIN NEEDS HYDRATION TOO
A nourishing body lotion like Malin+Goetz Rum Body Lotion will keep your core, including arms, elbows, knees and more calm and itch-free. Slather a body moisturizer on super liberally and revel in your softer side.
HAND IT TO YOURSELF
Lizard-like knuckles and generally scaly hands don't feel good and certainly aren't a plus during the handshake process. Make sure mitts look and feel shake-able by applying an intensive and non-greasy hand cream like Jack Black Industrial Strength Hand Healer.
GIVE YOURSELF SOME LIP SERVICE
The cold certainly does a number on your lips, but couple that with frigid winds and you've got a recipe for sore, cracked and wind-burned kissers. Keep your pie hole in good shape by applying some Baxter Of California Hydro Salve Lip Balm.
BEARD SCIENCE
If you've got facial foliage, the colder months are prime time for beard-ruff, basically dandruff of the beard caused by flaking skin underneath. Keep facial hair soft and flake free with a beard moisturizer like our very own Grooming Lounge Whisker Sauce.
